Join our friendly group of stitchers on Wednesday afternoons. This term we'll each be exploring Japanese Sashiko Quilting and Boro Patchwork, and making an elegant Clutch Bag.
We'll start the term learning about Boro Patchwork piecing and crafting a panel decorated with different Sashiko Quilting patterns. Then you'll learn how to assemble the panel into a gorgeous Clutch bag. Later in the term, we'll be exploring the mending and recycling aspects of these techniques and you may have time to make some additional projects, perhaps for Xmas presents.
Sashiko Quilting uses simple running stitch to create beautifully intricate geometric designs. I'll show you step by step how to construct the grids and mark out these patterns on to your work, ready for stitching.
